Innovation Dermatology is a growing surgical and cosmetic dermatology practice in Red Deer, Alberta, led by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Isaiah Day. We are seeking a dedicated, professional, and highly motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team full-time.

This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who enjoys procedural medicine, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has an interest in both surgical and cosmetic dermatology.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Day and our clinical team to provide exceptional patient care across a range of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services. Responsibilities will include assisting with surgical procedures, managing independent nurse-led clinics, supporting cosmetic treatments, and helping ensure a seamless patient experience.

Dr. Day performs a wide variety of procedures, including Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer, blepharoplasty, mini facelifts, and other cosmetic and dermatologic surgeries.

For candidates with an interest in aesthetic medicine, there are also opportunities to develop or expand skills in cosmetic injectables, including participation in our growing cosmetic practice. Experienced nurse injectors are encouraged to apply, and additional training and mentorship opportunities may be available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with dermatologic and cosmetic surgical procedures
  • Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments
  • Provide perioperative patient care and education
  • Manage nurse-led clinics and follow-up appointments
  • Perform clinical assessments and documentation
  • Support cosmetic dermatology treatments and patient consultations
  • Administer cosmetic injectable treatments (depending on training and experience)
  • Coordinate patient flow in a busy procedural practice
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians and administrative staff

Qualifications

  • Current registration as an LPN or RN in Alberta
  • Previous experience in surgery, procedural medicine, dermatology, plastics, emergency medicine, or other fast-paced clinical settings is considered an asset
  • Experience with cosmetic injectables is an asset but not required
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, high-expectation clinical environment
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to patient-centered care
  • Interest in cosmetic dermatology and aesthetic medicine
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment

The Ideal Candidate

You are:

  • Hard-working and dependable
  • Calm and efficient under pressure
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused
  • Eager to learn and develop new procedural and cosmetic skills
  • Interested in both surgical and cosmetic dermatology
  • Motivated to contribute to a growing and innovative practice

What We Offer

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications
  • Opportunity to work closely with a board-certified dermatologist in a highly specialized practice
  • Exposure to advanced surgical and cosmetic dermatology procedures
  • Opportunities for experienced or aspiring nurse injectors to grow within our cosmetic practice
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Professional growth, mentorship, and ongoing learning opportunities

Compensation: $35–$60 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and scope of responsibilities. Additional compensation opportunities may be available for experienced cosmetic injectors.
