Job Title: Emergency Water Technician

Company: Red Dot Restoration

Salary: $25-32 per hour

About Us

Red Dot Restoration specializes in 24/7 emergency repair for properties damaged by fire, smoke, water, and other perils. We are looking for a hardworking, customer-focused Emergency Water Technician to join our team.

The Position

As an Emergency Water Technician, you will respond to property emergencies to perform water extraction, targeted demolition, and structural drying. This physically demanding role requires heavy lifting in challenging environments (including mould and sewage), a customer-focused attitude, and availability for mandatory on-call and overtime shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Emergency Response: Respond to water, fire, and smoke damage calls. Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Site Prep & Safety: Conduct site surveys and hazard assessments. Obtain signed work authorizations and secure client keys.
  • Mitigation & Demolition: Extract water, remove damaged building materials (drywall, flooring, cabinets), and complete asbestos abatement following safety regulations.
  • Drying & Equipment: Set up commercial drying equipment. Clean, maintain, and safely tag out gear as needed.
  • Documentation: Track job progress with accurate moisture/psychrometric readings, detailed records, lab samples, and photos.
  • Teamwork/Leadership: Managed a team of 2-3 Technicians. Follow all IICRC guidelines and company policies while providing guidance to Junior Technicians.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (industry experience is a bonus, but not required).
  • Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to stay calm under pressure.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Physical: Ability to lift up to 75 lb and perform demanding manual labour.
  • Environment: Comfortable working in challenging conditions (hot, cold, wet, dusty) where dirt, sewage, and mould may be present.
  • Hours: Available Monday to Friday, plus mandatory on-call shifts, evenings, weekends, and overtime as required by business needs.

Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
