We're currently looking for a Casual Emergency Rescue Technician for an upcoming Shutdown Work on our client site in Redwater, AB.

Candidate must be local to Edmonton area and/or willing to drive to site daily.

Day rate: $450

Start Date: August 24

End Date: October 1 (possibility of extension base on site progress)

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist with all required reports and documentation as needed

· Perform emergency and non-emergency activities of their assigned emergency response team

· Assist with the development of site-specific emergency response plans and procedures to ensure a coordinated and effective response to all emergencies across the site.

· Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and inventory of fire protection and life safety equipment and systems, along with all client assets under the stewardship of Intl.SOS

· Participate in meetings as assigned by the ACP/FF Lead and client.

· Participate in training programs for ERT members and auxiliary fire teams.

· Attend safety/toolbox meetings.

· Participate in drills, inspections, and all other site-related duties as assigned.

· Maintain standards of practice consistent with the provincial governing regulatory body

· Comply with International SOS Policies and Procedures

· Ensure that patients are managed in a professional and friendly manner.

· Ensure equipment and transport vehicles are ready 24/7 to undertake all medical retrieval services.

· Participate in emergency response services as required.

· Participate in ongoing continuing medical education provided by International SOS

· Operate within boundaries of the provincial licences of the incumbent.

· Assist with the internal training program on site by preparing training sessions as requested.

· Any other duties that may be requested from time to time by management.

· Ensure International SOS and the client are represented in a professional manner.

· Participate in required drills/skills testing.

Required Skills and Knowledge

· NFPA 1006 Confined Space at Operations Level or Equivalent

· NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue / High Angle Rope Rescue at Operations Level or Equivalent

· First Aid

· H2S Alive

· Site-Specific Requirements as Indicated at Hire Date (i.e. orientation, WHMIS, TDG, etc.)

Required Competencies

· The ability to maintain and apply safety standards.

· The ability to plan, organize, manage, and administer activities requiring coordination with others.

· The ability to accept responsibility, to make decisions, to delegate responsibility and to motivate subordinates toward a coordinated effort.

· The ability to work effectively with employees, other contractors and the client.

· The ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with employees, other contractors and the client.

· The ability to act effectively in emergency and stressful situations.

· Strong communication skills, both orally and written.

· Basic computer skills that include knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Required Work Experience

· 2 + years of relevant industry experience is an asset
