Full job description

JOIN OUR COMMUNITY HEALTH SERVICES TEAM IN NORTHERN MANITOBA!

Position Available: Primary Care Paramedic (PCP)
Location: Remote and semi- isolated communities – Manitoba
Rotation: Client dependent (typically 2 – 6-week rotations)

Practice at the Top of Your Scope While Making a Real Impact

Are you an experienced Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) looking for a role where your clinical skills truly matter?

Through our partnership with Calian Health, Advanced Medical Solutions Inc. (AMS) is proud to support Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) by providing paramedic services to Indigenous communities across Northern Manitoba. In many of these communities, healthcare professionals are the only providers available.

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside nurses and healthcare teams delivering 24/7 primary care, public health support, and emergency response in communities where access to healthcare services is limited.

Your expertise, adaptability, and sound clinical judgment will make a meaningful difference every day.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

Working with Advanced Medical Solutions offers more than just a contract — it offers meaningful work, professional growth, and a unique northern experience.

As part of the AMS team, you will receive:

  • Competitive compensation package, including a northern living allowance.
  • Travel and accommodations fully arranged and covered for deployment rotations.
  • Opportunities to practice at the top of your scope in diverse and challenging clinical environments.
  • Onsite access to fitness facilities at certain locations.
  • Comprehensive onboarding and onsite training to prepare you for remote healthcare environments.
  • Access to AMS’ in-house clinical leadership and support team for guidance in remote clinical practice.
  • Career mobility within Advanced Medical Solutions, with opportunities to transfer to other divisions and projects across Canada (eligibility criteria apply).
  • A unique northern adventure, combining meaningful work with an unforgettable professional experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a PCP on this project, you will:

  • Provide primary, public, and emergency healthcare services within your scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals in a team-based model.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Respond to urgent and emergency situations with sound clinical judgment.
  • Support health promotion and disease prevention initiatives.
  • Assist with operational and administrative duties as required.
  • Travel by small aircraft, off-road vehicles, snowmobiles, or watercraft as needed.
  • Work in varied and sometimes extreme weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Primary Care Paramedic in good standing with the Manitoba College of Paramedics
  • Minimum 1,950 verified working hours within the past two (2) calendar years
  • (Preferred candidates will have urgent care, rural care, or emergency experience)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ITLS certifications
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (Air & Ground)
  • WHMIS (2015)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid PSPC Reliability Clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in remote, high-responsibility settings

Preferred Assets:

  • Experience in remote or Indigenous community settings
  • Community, public, or primary care experience

At Advanced Medical Solutions, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and accessible workplace. We recognize the importance of equitable healthcare access and culturally safe service delivery in partnership with Indigenous communities.
