Now Hiring: Dispatcher / Service Coordinator

Northern Doors Ltd. – Grande Prairie, AB

Northern Doors Ltd. is a locally owned and operated company proudly serving Grande Prairie and the Peace Country. For over 25 years, we've specialized in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential Garage Doors, commercial Overhead Doors, and access systems.

We're looking for an organized, customer-focused Dispatcher / Service Coordinator to become an important part of our team.

No two days are ever quite the same—and that's exactly what makes this role exciting!

What You'll Do

  • Schedule and dispatch service technicians for daily service calls.
  • Plan efficient daily routes to maximize technician productivity, minimize travel time, and ensure timely customer service.
  • Coordinate appointments with customers and communicate arrival times.
  • Prioritize emergency service requests while balancing scheduled work and adjusting routes as needed.
  • Monitor technician progress throughout the day and make schedule or route changes when necessary.
  • Create and manage workorders using our service management software.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and service documentation.
  • Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, updates, and follow-ups.
  • Work closely with our estimating, purchasing, and warehouse departments to ensure jobs are ready for technicians.
  • Assist with general office and administrative duties as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous dispatching, scheduling, administrative, or customer service experience is required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and prioritize in a busy environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with FieldPulse or similar dispatch software is an asset but not required.
  • Experience in the overhead door industry is an asset but is not required.
