Full job description

Techmation Electric & Controls Ltd is currently hiring for Journeyman Industrial Instrumentation Technicians for projects with our Fort Saskatchewan branch. Shifts will vary depending on the project.

Techmation works on a variety of industrial oil and gas construction and maintenance projects throughout Western Canada. As a successful applicant, you will have the opportunity to work on full-time, long-term industrial projects with well-established and reputable clients.

Positions being hired for:

  • Instrumentation Journeyman

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct predictive, preventative and corrective regular maintenance on all instrumentation equipment

· Provide troubleshooting and problem solving with specific attention to risk awareness in terms of safety, quality and plant production

· Perform compliance verifications on plant instrumentation equipment to support the safe and efficient operation of the plant as well as custody transfer of feedstock and utilities

· Maintain accurate work history for equipment

· Work with planning to facilitate ordering parts and open/close work orders

· Ensure engineered changes are effectively integrated into existing

· Maintain all discipline related records and documentation

· Ensure all tools and testing equipment are maintained and calibrated

· Ensure all work procedures and equipment settings adhere to manufacturer and engineering design specifications.

· The role is responsible for creating and sustaining safe work practices, improving reliability and reducing costs.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Journeyman Instrument certificate
  • 5+ years of post-certification experience in Oil/Gas/Petrochemical
  • Well-developed computer skills.
  • Previous tube bending experience would be considered an asset
  • Previous instrumentation construction and maintenance experience working within the Industrial Oil & Gas sector would be considered an asset
  • Candidates must have valid Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive and Fall Protection, Intermediate First Aid Level C with CPR/AED, and CSTS 2020 Fundamentals Certificates
  • Must have a flexible work schedule - shift work, overtime, and weekends
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license and clean driving record
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
