Job Summary

On Track Controls is seeking a motivated Electronics Engineering Technologist to join our growing team. We welcome applications from both recent graduates and experienced professionals who are passionate about electronics, troubleshooting, and innovative technology.

Working closely with the Production Floor Manager and production team, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic products and printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge railway control systems, including advanced hydrogen and zero-emission locomotive technologies.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble, inspect, and test PCB assemblies and electronic products.
  • Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic PCB’s and systems.
  • Diagnose hardware faults using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and power supplies.
  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Verify product quality through inspection and testing to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Document test procedures, troubleshooting results, and repair records.
  • Experience in building harnesses and mechanical builds to drawings and specifications.
  • Testing of power electronics assemblies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Follow established quality, safety, and ESD procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital electronic circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
