Resolution Staffing Inc. is hiring on behalf of our client, Unitrak, a well-established Port Hope company with 50 years of leadership in bulk material conveying.

Unitrak designs and manufactures specialized bulk material conveying equipment and has built a strong reputation for providing innovative equipment and solutions to customers across a variety of industries.

We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Field Service Technician to join the Unitrak team.

About the Opportunity

This is a hands-on, customer-focused technical position that combines in-house technical support with field service.

The successful candidate will spend their time working from the Port Hope facility and at client sites, responding to customer service calls and technical questions, troubleshooting equipment issues, providing technical guidance, and working closely with customers and internal teams to resolve problems.

The role also involves regular travel for new equipment installations, commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and customer training. In addition, approximately 20% of the travel will be to the United States to support customer installations, service calls, troubleshooting, and training.

We are looking for someone with 5+ years of relevant service experience who is technically strong, has a strong knowledge of PLC’s, is confident working in a team or independently, and genuinely enjoys working with customers.

Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential. This person will be a key point of contact for customers and must be comfortable listening to their concerns, diagnosing problems, explaining technical solutions, and following through to ensure the issue is resolved.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide in-house technical and customer service support from the Port Hope facility
• Respond to customer service calls, technical questions, and equipment concerns
• Troubleshoot problems and help customers identify appropriate solutions
• Provide technical support by phone, email, and at client sites when required
• Travel throughout Ontario for new equipment installations, commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and customer training
• Travel to the United States approximately 20% of the time to support customer installations, service calls, troubleshooting, and training
• Install, commission, start up, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain specialized industrial equipment
• Train customers, operators, and maintenance personnel on equipment operation and maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related equipment issues
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems
• Complete service reports and technical documentation accurately
• Build and maintain strong, professional customer relationships
• Work closely with Engineering and Operations to resolve technical issues
• Identify opportunities for replacement parts, equipment upgrades, and additional service support
• Follow all company and customer safety requirements

What We're Looking For

This is an experienced-level position. We are looking for someone with 5+ years of relevant industrial service or field service experience.

The successful candidate will have:

• 5+ years of experience in field service, industrial service, industrial maintenance, or a related technical environment
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment and machinery
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Confidence dealing directly with customers at all levels
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of service calls
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical customers
• A professional, customer-focused approach

Technical Experience

• Industrial machinery and equipment
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
• Motor controls and industrial electrical systems
• PLC diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Industrial automation and control systems
• Equipment commissioning and startup
• Preventative maintenance
• Technical drawings, electrical schematics, manuals, and equipment documentation

Candidates with backgrounds as a Field Service Technician, Industrial Service Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Industrial Electrician, Controls Technician, Automation Technician, Electro-Mechanical Technician, or similar are encouraged to apply.

Travel Requirements

This position involves a combination of in-house technical support and field travel.

• Regular travel throughout Ontario is required
• Approximately 20% travel to the United States
• Travel will include new equipment installations, commissioning, service, troubleshooting, and customer training
• Some overnight travel will be required
• Candidates must have a valid passport and be eligible to travel to the United States
• Candidates must be comfortable travelling independently
• All approved business travel expenses are covered by the company

Pay: $30.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
