Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive electrical project estimates, supporting project bidding and planning processes. This role requires a strong understanding of construction estimating, project management, and pricing strategies within the electrical and construction industries. The Electrical Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure competitive and profitable bids while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Duties

  • Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial, industrial, or residential projects using industry-standard software such as accubid.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and identify potential challenges or cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop accurate pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services based on current market rates.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to develop bid strategies that align with company goals.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and terms.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, ensuring all aspects of the project are accurately represented.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and related documentation for future reference.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and technological advancements relevant to electrical construction estimating.

Experience

  • Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, installation practices, and safety standards within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid is highly preferred; experience with Bluebeam is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability in negotiation with vendors and subcontractors to achieve cost-effective solutions.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple estimates simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience working on large-scale construction projects is desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure precise cost calculations and risk assessment.
