Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a level 2 and higher apprentices and journeymen. Immediate positions available for work in Cross Lake Manitoba installing lighting and control systems in schools.

Vehicle, hotel and daily food allowence provided. Incentive pay and time and half for overtime. Work 14 days on and 7 days off. Flights back to Winnipeg for weeks off are paid for.

Duties

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately install or repair electrical systems.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in industrial or construction settings.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to perform electrical work efficiently and safely.
  • Work with low voltage systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes.
  • Conduct inspections to identify electrical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Assist with renovation projects by updating or upgrading existing electrical systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople such as electricians, contractors, or handyman teams on complex projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed for compliance and future reference.

Skills

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical schematics.
  • Experience as an industrial electrician or in construction environments is highly desirable.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment related to electrical work.
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and renovation procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently.
