Position Overview

Wescan is hiring a self-motivated individual to join our construction technology team. The successful candidate will have experience in 3D modelling of building systems. This is a multifunctional position supporting our field teams as well as our planning department. An understanding of electrical, mechanical and structural systems is an asset. Reporting to the VDC manager, the candidate facilitate model development, fabrication drawings, accuracy checks, participate in team meetings and handle their workload with a professional approach.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed CAD drawings and models using AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Revizto.
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure designs meet project specifications.
  • Develop schematics and layout designs for various construction projects.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in CAD technology.

Qualifications

  • 3D modelling of building systems (Mechanical and Electrical)
  • Ability to translate 2D drawings into 3D B*uilding Information M*odel
  • Understanding of BIM workflows
  • Read and understand schedules and scope of work
  • Construction industry experience
  • Effective English language verbal, written, reading and interpersonal communication skills
  • Takes direction, applies knowledge to tasks, willing to learn, trustworthy
  • Adaptable to working in changing conditions
  • Excels in a team environment
  • Driven to provide value through work ethic
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and BlueBeam / Adobe Acrobat
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and proactively address challenges and/or gaps in the VDC process
