Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Electrician to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on electrical professional who combines practical field experience with strong electrical design, troubleshooting, commissioning, and project support capabilities.

The successful candidate will play a key role throughout the entire project lifecycle, including concept development, electrical design, panel layouts, prototyping, manufacturing support, testing, commissioning, installation, troubleshooting, and customer support. This position requires someone who is equally comfortable working in the office, on the shop floor, and in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project requirements, specifications, and customer needs.
  • Develop and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Perform electrical calculations and support equipment selection.
  • Assist with prototype development and product improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical and civil disciplines.
  • Support procurement, manufacturing, assembly, and production teams.
  • Participate in testing, commissioning, field startup, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving electrical panels, controls, generators, transformers, MCCs, motors, and industrial equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians, customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with ESA requirements, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, CSA standards, and industry best practices.
  • Support customer service and post-installation activities when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario Master Electrician Licence (preferred).
  • Candidates holding a valid 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician Licence, 442A Industrial Electrician Licence, or Red Seal Electrician Certification will also be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical systems, industrial controls, automation, manufacturing, power generation, commissioning, maintenance, or electrical design environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Electrical panels
  • Industrial controls
  • PLC systems
  • Motor controls
  • MCCs
  • Generators
  • Transformers
  • Power distribution systems
  • Experience with testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup support.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and prepare electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar design software.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards, CSA requirements, and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master Electrician Licence.
  • P.Eng. designation or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) registration.
  • Experience with industrial automation and PLC programming.
  • Experience supporting projects from design through commissioning and post-sales support.
  • Experience in manufacturing, power generation, utility, automation, or industrial environments.

Pay: $60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
