JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Production Technician is responsible for the assembly, configuration, testing, and support of Stealth’s industrial computing and display products, including Industrial Computers, PCs, Servers, Panel PCs, Industrial Monitors, Flat Racks, KVMs, and related accessories. This role supports production, service, and technical support activities to ensure products are built to specification, meet quality standards, and are delivered reliably to customers.
Production Technicians work in a hands-on manufacturing environment and collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Support teams. The role offers multiple levels of progression, ranging from introductory product assembly and testing to advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and support of complex product configurations and customer issues, with the opportunity to grow into a backup Technical Support contact handling customer inquiries by phone and email.
DUTIES / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble, configure, test, and service all Stealth products including Industrial Computers (PCs, Servers, Panel PCs), Industrial Monitors, Flat Racks, KVMs, and related accessories in accordance with documented specifications and quality standards.
- Perform functional testing, inspection, and verification of completed systems to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with internal and customer requirements.
- Support troubleshooting, repair, and service activities for production units, RMAs, and internal systems as required.
- Follow all Quality Management System (QMS), ESD, safety, and production procedures to maintain a high standard of workmanship and consistency.
- Assist with general production and support activities including inventory handling, shipping/receiving, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Technical Support teams to resolve build issues and improve product reliability and efficiency.
- Act as a potential backup for Technical Support, professionally handling customer technical inquiries by phone and email and researching solutions to issues encountered in the field
SKILL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong technical aptitude with experience assembling, configuring, and testing computer systems and electronic hardware.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, BIOS setup, and system integration.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and system issues using logical problem-solving methods.
- High attention to detail with the ability to work safely with electronic components and follow ESD and quality procedures.
- Ability to follow documented processes, work independently or as part of a team, and learn new technologies.
- Knowledge and experience with Linux operating systems is highly valued.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical college diploma in electronics, computer systems, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
- Entry-level to advanced experience in system assembly, manufacturing, service, or technical support within an electronics or industrial environment.
- Experience building, testing, or servicing computer systems, displays, or electronic products.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, quality standards, and ESD practices.
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, IPC, First Aid) considered an asset.
- Experience in customer technical support or a related support role is an asset.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and reach for extended periods in a manufacturing and assembly environment.
- Manual handling of products, components, and packaging materials, including lifting systems up to 50 lbs.
- Work involves handling electronic components and requires adherence to ESD, safety, and quality procedures.
- Position may require occasional overtime based on production and business needs.
