Job Overview
We are seeking 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th year apprentices for our Electrical Apprenticeship program. This hands-on opportunity is designed for those looking to gain valuable experience in the electrical field while working under the guidance of experienced professionals. As an apprentice, you will learn essential skills and techniques that are crucial for a successful career in electrical work, including both industrial and commercial applications.

Duties

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Work with various types of wiring, including low voltage and high voltage systems.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to understand project requirements.
  • Perform troubleshooting using an ohmmeter and other diagnostic tools to identify electrical issues.
  • Collaborate with team members on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
  • Follow Ontario Electrical Code regulations to maintain safety standards on all projects.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills in electrical work and construction practices.

Skills

  • Previous experience as an industrial or commercial electrician is required.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in electrical work.
  • Familiarity with low voltage and high voltage systems.
  • Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively.
  • Experience on construction sites is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of frame carpentry is a plus.
