Full job description

At Clarke Electric, we have been delivering industrial electrical solutions across Ontario for over 45 years. Our reputation is built on responsiveness, technical expertise, and long-standing client relationships. We specialize in industrial service, power distribution, controls, equipment installations, preventative maintenance, and energy efficiency solutions.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Service Manager to take ownership of our service division from end to end.

This is a leadership role for a senior electrician who thrives in industrial environments, understands plant operations, and can confidently lead both customers and crews through critical downtime, troubleshooting, and service work. You will be the technical authority clients rely on when equipment is down, systems fail, or production is at risk.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will oversee service operations, estimating, client relationships, and the continued growth of our service department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the day-to-day service operation, including intake, prioritization, dispatch, and resolution of service calls across industrial and commercial facilities
  • Serve as the senior technical lead on complex troubleshooting involving industrial controls, motor control centers, PLCs, VFDs, soft starters, power distribution systems, and plant equipment
  • Prepare accurate service quotations, repair pricing, and project estimates with clear scope definitions and protective contractual language
  • Lead and support the Service Foreman, service coordinator, and electricians assigned to service work
  • Develop and grow recurring preventative maintenance and service agreements
  • Build strong client relationships and act as the primary point of contact from first call through final completion
  • Coordinate with consulting engineers, utilities, and plant personnel on service upgrades, metering requirements, studies, and shutdown planning
  • Identify opportunities for service growth, capital improvements, and energy efficiency upgrades within existing client accounts
  • Support larger industrial projects driven by service relationships, including equipment replacements, service upgrades, and plant modifications
  • Monitor service department KPIs including response times, quality, utilization, and profitability

Qualifications

  • Licensed 309A Electrician (Construction and Maintenance) in Ontario
  • Minimum 5+ years of industrial troubleshooting and service experience in plant environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial power systems, controls, automation, and distribution
  • Experience estimating and pricing service and repair work
  • Proven leadership experience managing crews, technicians, or service teams
  • Strong customer communication skills with the ability to remain composed and decisive during critical downtime situations
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, single lines, and control schematics
  • Experience with utilities, coordination studies, and service upgrades considered an asset
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites across the GTA and surrounding areas

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary starting at $120,000+, based on experience
  • Company vehicle and cell phone
  • The opportunity to lead and grow the service division of an established, respected electrical contractor
  • Diverse industrial and commercial work across multiple sectors
  • A strong self-perform team with experienced field crews and support staff
  • Direct access to leadership and meaningful influence on the future growth of the company
  • Long-term career growth with a stable, family-oriented company

Pay: From $120,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company events
  • Dental care
  • Extended health care
  • RRSP match
  • Vision care
