Kinderville Ottawa is looking for a full-time teaching assistant. with daycare experience that is willing to work with all age groups. We use play-based learning to help develop a child’s skills and knowledge therefore you must be creative and open to new ways of teaching. We are an inclusive childcare center that respects all ethnic backgrounds. We are looking for an Educator to work in our infant or toddler group.
Required Credentials:
· Standard First Aid and CPR (Class C)
· Vulnerable Sector Police record Check
Security and Safety:
· Vulnerable sector check (within the last 6 months)
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
· Work with Infants, toddlers, preschool
· Physically demanding
· Bending, crouching, kneeling
Personal Suitability:
· Good communication skills: to interact with the kids, your colleagues, the parents and your supervisors;
· Reliability and punctuality: you must be responsible for being on time and work the hours that you are scheduled to work.
· Team player: able to collaborate with colleagues, share your opinions and good practices and listen to others recommendations
Specific Skills
·With the help of the RECE develop and implement child-care programs based on children’s interests based on your knowledge and observations.
· Help to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest.
· Provide opportunities to express creativity through art, drama, music and physical activity
· Guide and assist children in their development such as walking, talking, proper eating, dressing and toilet habits. You will be required to serve but not prepare lunch, change diapers and toilet train.
· Write and communicate observations on the children.
· Cleaning and transitions are also an important part of every day.
· Experience working with Special Needs children is an asset.
Work schedule
The office hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
You will be expected to work 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday with a one hour lunch break
The daycare is not open on Statutory Holiday
