The London District Catholic School Board has a reputation for excellence, with more than 4,700 employees working together to educate approximately 28,000 students at 44 elementary schools, 9 secondary schools and St. Patrick Adult & Continuing Education within Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties, including the cities of London, St. Thomas, Strathroy and Woodstock.

Social Worker

Association of Professional Student Services Personnel

Permanent – Full Time Position - 1.0 FTE

Effective August 31, 2026

Salary Range (Commensurate with experience):

$71,582 - $95,870

Reporting to the Senior Administrator of Professional Services, the successful applicant will work in the following key domains of social work practice: assessment, individual, small group & classroom intervention, staff & system consultation and capacity building, as well as advocacy & community liaison services to the students in both elementary and secondary schools, and their parents, and to function as a system member of the Social Work Team at LDCSB.

This position is available to fill an existing vacancy within the organization.

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Master’s degree in social work and member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience with children, youth, and families at risk.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to be self-directed in a complex work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience providing evidence-informed individual and group interventions (both small and large group), with children and youth experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and the implementation of system-wide risk management protocols.
  • Knowledge of the Child & Family Services Act, Education Act, Youth Criminal Justice Act and other pertinent legislation including provincial school attendance policies.
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a team environment with students, school staff and parents in partnership with other system staff and community partners.
  • Possess excellent communication, organization and consultation skills.
  • Possess an understanding and willingness to support an inclusive Catholic education environment and the mission of the London District Catholic School Board.
  • Experience in school social work preferred.
  • Reliable transportation is required to travel within the LDCSB District.
