Educational Assistant: Elementary

Founded in 1989, Christ Church Cathedral School serves a diverse demographic of students in JK to Grade 8. Cathedral School is currently in search of an Educational Assistant with a Primary Specialty as our newest team member. The successful candidate will be committed to inspiring students, understanding the unique developmental and social needs of students, and engaging with our vibrant and dynamic school community. Our school emphasizes a strong musical component, and the successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for and knowledge of music in education.

Position: Full Time 1.0 FTE

Start date: ImmediateRequired: Valid BC Educational Assistant Certification

Strong candidates will:

  • be eligible to work in Canada.
  • hold a valid BC Educational Assistant Certification
  • as an asset have experience in music education
  • experience working with insulin dependent Diabetic children an asset
  • as an asset hold an ECE or ECEA Certification
  • be familiar with the BC Ministry of Education Elementary curriculum and core competencies.
  • use differentiated student support methods effectively.
  • understand the use of technologies in the classroom both for learning and learning support.
  • be familiar with a variety of formative and summative assessment tools.
  • work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the full school’s effectiveness.
  • support the Anglican Ethos of our school programming.

Compensation: $43 000 - $45 000 for 10 month contract depending on education and experience. Option for Benefits following probationary period.
