Full job description

Overview
Golden Arrow is looking for a Safety Operations Personnel who will work in Golden Arrow Industrial Division in Fort McMurray, CNRL sites. This is a temporary position for the CNRL shutdown.

Duties

  • Supervising drivers in the completion of their daily tasks
  • Attend all incidents involving vehicles and drivers, following company and CNRL procedures for investigating and reporting on such incidents.
  • Monitor and evaluate driver performance, providing feedback to project manager and drivers on a regular basis.
  • Supervise driver trainers recurring driver evaluations and identify areas where additional training is required.
  • Complete daily bus inspections
  • Audit driver departure times reported on daily trip sheets using GPS reports.
  • Assist with the completion of the monthly HSE reports for submission to client.
  • Support administrative personnel with competing daily schedules and dispatch procedures.
  • Perform investigation into alleged driver violation of company and CNRL rules, procedures, safety procedures and provincial regulations. Document findings, make recommendations for possible discipline to project manager and participate in disciplinary meetings with drivers.
  • Communicate professionally with drivers, other on-site company employees and CNRL ground transportation personnel, changes to schedules, status of route performance from time to time, emergency situations, equipment breakdowns and addressing other issues as they arise.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Safety Certification (NCSO) (required).
  • Proven experience in a safety operations or similar role is preferred.
  • Strong skills in training development, with the ability to create engaging instructional materials.
  • Knowledge of transportation industry operations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Shifts:

  • 12 hour days.
  • 7 days on and 7 days off.

Other Details:

  • Transportation provided to and from Fort McMurray from Edmonton or Calgary.
  • Camp provided if needed
