Job Title: General Manager

Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $200,000 - $240,000

The Position:
The General Manager is responsible for building organizational capability, managing and mentoring leadership, supporting sustainable and profitable growth, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction with a focus on schedule attainment. The incumbent champions Eclipse's values, policies, security requirements, and ways of working while driving continuous improvement and business performance. Current company priorities requiring alignment across the organization include operational discipline, technology transformation, schedule attainment and growth readiness.

The incumbent will work with the management team and plant personnel to deliver the Eclipse Vision, Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture delivering programs on time and on budget and aligned with our Charter Mandates.

What You'll Do Here:Technical:

• Accountable for overall operational, financial, and project execution performance of the Cambridge business
• Lead operational reviews, project portfolio reviews, capacity planning reviews, and executive escalation processes
• Ensure project schedules, milestones, margin objectives, quality targets, and customer commitments are achieved
• Partner with PMO, Project Engineering, Operations, and Shared Services to identify execution risks and implement recovery plans as required
• Drive operational discipline through forecasting, resource planning, project health reviews, and performance metrics
• Monitor overall business performance against annual operating plans, strategic objectives, financial targets, and operational KPIs
• Implement corrective actions where business performance, customer satisfaction, project delivery, or profitability objectives are at risk
• Ensure resources are appropriately allocated and balanced to support current and future business requirements
• Support strategic workforce planning and capacity planning initiatives to enable business growth
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives that improve productivity, project execution, quality, and operational efficiency
• Promote adoption of enterprise systems, digital tools, AI-enabled solutions, and technology transformation initiatives that improve business performance and scalability
• Ensure all work is executed in accordance with Eclipse policies, procedures, quality standards, safety standards, security requirements, and applicable regulatory obligations

Leadership:

• Operate with a sense of urgency and drive accountability within the organization
• Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders
• Promote a customer-focused culture that emphasizes responsiveness, accountability, communication, and execution excellence
• Collaborate with Business Unit Leaders, PMO, Sales, Applications Engineering, Project Engineering, Operations, and Shared Services to achieve enterprise objectives
• Develop annual operating plans and strategic initiatives that support company growth and long-term business objectives
• Build organizational capability through leadership development, succession planning, coaching, and talent management initiatives
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, innovation, operational excellence, and employee engagement
• Lead employee development activities, including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and workforce development initiatives
• Ensure effective communication of company priorities, organizational changes, business objectives, and leadership expectations
• Champion safety, quality, security, compliance, and ethical business practices throughout the organization
• Promote collaboration and resource sharing across locations, business units, and functional teams
• Support organizational change initiatives and ensure successful adoption of new processes, systems, technologies, and ways of working
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold Eclipse's Code of Conduct, values, and leadership principles

Security, Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with the Eclipse Security Program, customer security requirements, and applicable regulatory obligations
• Support implementation and enforcement of project-specific security plans where required
• Ensure appropriate controls exist for restricted customer information, controlled goods, technical data, and regulated projects
• Promote compliance with Controlled Goods Program requirements, export control regulations, customer contractual requirements, and internal security policies where applicable
• Support internal and external audits, risk assessments, investigations, and corrective action activities
• Ensure leaders understand and fulfill their responsibilities related to project security, access management, information protection, and regulatory compliance
• Identify operational, financial, security, and business risks and implement mitigation strategies
• These responsibilities align with the recently implemented Eclipse Security Program and leadership accountability model.

Project Execution:

• Ensure project schedules, customer milestones, financial targets, and delivery commitments are achieved
• Champion adherence to Eclipse Project Operating Policies, governance processes, and project management standards
• Lead executive project reviews and escalation processes for at-risk projects
• Ensure project teams proactively identify, communicate, and resolve risks, issues, and resource constraints
• Support effective project startup, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities
• Ensure lessons learned, corrective actions, and continuous improvement opportunities are captured and implemented
• Monitor portfolio health and project performance metrics and implement recovery actions when required
• Ensure quality, safety, security, and customer requirements are incorporated into project execution activities
• Maximize profitability through optimizing process, cadence and departmental procedures

Travel:

• Expectation of travel to vendor/supplier locations is less than 10% of time, however may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needs

What We're Looking For:
Education:

• Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related discipline, or related experience
• MBA, P.Eng., PMP, CPA, or equivalent leadership credential considered an asset

Experience:

• 10+ years of progressive operational leadership experience within custom automation, manufacturing, engineering, project-based, or related industries
• Demonstrated P&L management of revenue exceeding 100M+ as well as related experience leading large multidisciplinary organizations (100+ employees)
• Proven accountability for operational performance, financial results, project execution, and customer satisfaction
• Experience leading project portfolio reviews, resource planning, operational improvement, and business transformation initiatives
• Strong understanding of project management, operational excellence, forecasting, budgeting, capacity planning, and performance management
• Experience operating within regulated industries including nuclear, life sciences, aerospace, defense, or similar sectors considered an asset
• Experience leading organizational change, technology adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to develop leaders, build organizational capability, and execute succession planning strategies
