Full job description

37.5 hours per week

The Program Facilitator will work across both the Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP), focusing on families of children from birth to the 6 years, and Family Support, focusing on families of school aged children and adolescents. Support is provided in the areas of child & youth development, parenting & family dynamics and community connections. Responsibilities include goal setting, information sharing, modelling and coaching developmental activities, and advocacy. Effectively coordinating resources that support and empower the family is essential. Service is delivered primarily through home visits for families in Lloydminster and on Onion Lake Cree Nation.

The successful candidate will have a high level of knowledge regarding: Indigenous world views, traditional parenting and Truth & Reconciliation; child and youth development including disability; parenting and family dynamics; trauma informed care; and effective service coordination including systemic advocacy. Lived experience and a working knowledge of Indigenous programs and resources, including Jordan’s Principle, are definite assets.

Must have a high level of flexibility to accommodate family schedules including evening and weekend visits. Mileage is paid but must have a reliable personal vehicle for work purposes. Benefit and group RRSP programs available.

Qualifications: a relevant Degree or two-year Diploma is preferred although extensive experience will be considered. Must have a commitment to family-centered, strength-based practise.

Position to commence as soon as the successful candidate is available. Job Type: Full-time.
