Part-Time Bilingual (French/English) Early Years Teacher

Join the Ashwood Glen Team!

Ashwood Glen School is seeking a passionate, energetic, and caring Part-Time Bilingual (French/English) Early Years Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. This role is ideal for an educator who is committed to inspiring a love of the French language while nurturing the curiosity, confidence, and development of young learners.

Working with children in our Early Years program, you will create a warm, engaging, and language-rich environment where French is introduced through meaningful, play-based experiences. You will collaborate closely with our teaching team to deliver high-quality programming that supports children's academic, social, emotional, and physical development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate French lessons and activities that encourage language acquisition through play, songs, storytelling, movement, games, and hands-on learning.
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to participate.
  • Foster children's confidence in speaking and understanding French through daily routines and immersive experiences.
  • Observe, assess, and document children's learning and development, providing feedback and recommendations as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to integrate French learning into the broader educational experience.
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment that promotes curiosity and independence.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written) is required.
  • Experience working with young children in an early learning or educational setting.
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma, Ontario College of Teachers certification, or equivalent educational background is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of child development and early years learning principles.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • A collaborative, positive, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
  • Passion for fostering bilingualism and creating meaningful learning experiences for young children.
