Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster developmental growth through innovative teaching methods. This role involves working closely with children, families, and team members to support each child's educational journey and overall well-being.

Duties

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Facilitate engaging activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Monitor and assess each child's progress, providing feedback to parents and caregivers.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan special events, classroom projects, and educational outings.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate children with special needs or disabilities.
  • Use computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes.
  • Uphold all safety protocols and licensing requirements related to early childhood education.
  • Candidate must be able to work on the floor with the children as well as interact and supervise children outside in the garden during all seasons.

Experience

  • Full ECE Certificate registered in BC Canada is required.
  • Knowledge in the Montessori method an asset but not required
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices.
  • Experience with special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, including writing skills for documentation and parent reports.
  • Organizational skills for managing classroom activities, schedules, and student records.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and time management skills to effectively oversee classroom operations. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00-$32.00 per hour
