Full job description

We are looking for a caring and detail-oriented ECE or EA to provide after school care and summer care for our 3-year old daughter and our 6-year-old son for the next several years. Both children have extensive allergies.

The successful candidate will engage the children in outdoor play, snack time and crafts/educational activities for 2 hours per day, while parents work hybrid (i.e., a parent will usually be in the home working during childcare provision).

We are a busy household of sustainability professionals in a lovely corner of Burlington, next to greenspace and parks. We are looking forward to finding a long-term fit with someone who loves to care for children and is willing to take allergy management seriously.

Key Responsibilities

Childcare-based:

· Plan and lead enriching, age-appropriate educational activities in a fun and enthusiastic setting.

· Exceptional time management skills, able to adhere to existing daily routine and maintain reliable childcare provision.

· Pick up children from school and daycare (8 minute drive from house).

· Tidying and child meal preparation (ingredients pre-cooked).

Allergy-based:

· Support parent-guided food trials and monitor children for symptoms of allergic reactions (with parent in-home);

· Document all foods eaten and any BMs in childcare app.

· Take exceptional care and attention to detail regarding food preparation, to avoid any accidental exposures or cross-contamination to allergens.

· Carefully monitor children's allergy safety outside the home (e.g., at activities, at the park, etc.).

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 per week

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule
  • On-site parking

Application question(s):

  • A full G driver's license and clean driving record
  • Employee-owned vehicle to do school and daycare pickup (2-3 days per week)
  • No sponsorship required or ongoing immigration processes that prohibit legal work?

Experience:

  • Early childhood education: 3 years (required)

Work Location: In person
