Preschool Teacher - Interviews will take place in August for a September start

We are a private and unique Waldorf inspired school located in Fonthill. We provide a natural, positive learning environment for children ages 18months - to Grade 4, where each child is encouraged to develop their innate talents and abilities. We honour and protect the wonders of childhood. Through real life experiences and imitation, we are able to balance academic subjects with artistic and practical activities. Character development and community awareness/involvement is something we focus on everyday.

Job Summary
We are looking for an RECE who loves being with and teaching children. You are a creative, fun loving, professional, committed, nurturing teacher who has a passion for teaching.

The role of the teacher should include:

(a) - guide all children in a positive manner that is appropriate with their age and development;

(b) - use soft, supportive voices, model acceptable behaviour

(c) - supervise and assist children at all times to ensure safety;

(d) - ensure all working areas of the classroom be organized, assist children and staff for a neat and clean working environment;

(e) - diagnosis of the needs of students;

(f) - fulfill all policies and procedures presented by the Employer; all polices will be reviewed and signed off annually before commencing the school year;

(g) - awareness of the resources available to meet pupils needs;

(h) - establishment of performance goals related to both the learning and development of each student;

(i) - ongoing evaluation of goals, programs and techniques in the context of progress achieved;

(j) - grouping of students where appropriate to meet these needs and goals;

(k) - use of the best pedagogical techniques and materials available;

(l) - ongoing appraisal of the progress of each student and class as a whole;

(m) - participate/attend in professional development;

(n) - work well and communicate effectively and respectfully with all staff;

(o) - practice and function above minimum standards

(p) - read, review and adhere to Code of Ethics set forth by the College of ECE

(q) - Other duties as may arise from time to time and as may be assigned to the employee by the Employer.

Participate in staff meeting and professional development, as well as school events and fundraising are mandatory - Attending after school/ weekend events (i.e. open houses, etc) when needed.

Pay: $17.20-$25.00 per hour
