We are hiring for a Chef de Partie, Wildlight Kitchen + Bar at our location in Vancouver, BC near the UBC area.

Open availability is preferred.

Up to 40 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing menu items according to standard recipe, plating, and time standards.
  • Portioning, arranging and garnishing food to ensure proper presentation and quality.
  • Maintaining professional communication with front of the house employees to accommodate all guest requests and special dietary needs.
  • Observing and testing food to ensure proper quality using methods such as tasting, smelling, or temperature checks.
  • Labeling and dating all food items that are prepped and/or opened.
  • Ordering, stocking, and maintaining sufficient levels of food products at stations.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area and ensuring that equipment in the work area is clean and in proper working condition.
  • Providing leadership and assisting in the training of cooks.
  • Assisting other cooks during peak periods.
  • Overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen in the absence of the Chef.
  • Assisting other kitchen areas as needed.

You have:

  • A minimum 3 years of previous experience as a cook in an upscale high-volume, full-service restaurant environment.
  • A Food Safe Certificate.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on coaching for success.
  • Proficiency with computers and applications POS systems (considered an asset).

You are:

  • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Creative, innovative, and passionate for great food and providing outstanding customer service.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.

Compensation Details:

$23.00 - $28.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
