DZ Professional Delivery Driver – Foodservice (Physical Role)

This is a physically demanding, hands‑on foodservice delivery role with early morning start times.

This is a full‑time employee position.

We do NOT hire contractors, owner‑operators, incorporated drivers, or leased‑vehicle drivers.

This role is not suitable for long‑distance commuting, courier/gig drivers, or light‑duty delivery experience.

Non‑Negotiable Location Requirement

Daily reporting to Barrie, ON (L4N 9A3) is required for start times as early as 12:30 AM.

Long‑distance commuting has consistently proven unsustainable in this role.
Applicants must live within a reasonable, practical commuting distance and be able to maintain punctual attendance year‑round, including winter conditions.

About the Role

Foodservice delivery is one of the most physically demanding commercial driving roles.

• 70–80% of every shift is active delivery and unloading
• Continuous manual handling (“hand bombing”)
• Multi‑stop routes with direct customer interaction
• Fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment

Candidates without prior hands‑on foodservice or physical freight delivery experience often find this role more demanding than expected.

Schedule

• Start times between 12:30 AM – 5:45 AM (most routes start ~3:45 AM)
• Up to 5 shifts per week (Monday–Friday)
• No scheduled weekends
• Overtime opportunities available

Compensation

• $28.00/hour to start (including Driver‑Aided Training)
• Progression based on sustained positive performance:
• $28.50/hr at 3 months
• $29.00/hr at 6 months
• $29.50/hr at 1 year
• Top rate: $30.25/hr
• Accelerated progression for direct foodservice experience

Required Qualifications (All Mandatory)

Applicants who do not meet all requirements will be screened out.

• Valid Class DZ Licence
• Minimum 3 years of recent, verifiable, insured DZ driving experience
• Experience operating vehicles over 11,000 kg
• Commercial delivery or freight experience involving regular manual unloading
• Clean or near‑clean CVOR and driving abstract
• (Final approval subject to third‑party risk management review)

Experience Clarification

The following experience does NOT meet the requirements:

• Courier / parcel / gig delivery (Amazon, Uber, DoorDash, Skip)
• Rideshare or light‑duty delivery
• Owner‑operator or contract‑only driving
• Non‑commercial or minimally physical roles

All experience must be verifiable.

Physical Requirements

A bona fide occupational requirement of this role is the ability to:

• Repeatedly lift up to 40 kg (88 lbs) throughout the shift
• Walk, stand, bend, twist, and work ramps continuously
• Perform sustained manual handling in tight delivery environments

This lifting requirement is regular and ongoing, not occasional.
