About the position

Our Marine organization is a trusted provider of innovative solutions for the worldwide boating and boat building industry, and we recently expanded our scope to lead the boating industry into an electrified future. Dometic has won numerous NMMA Innovation Awards over the years, and we are always striving for new ways to make boating easier, safer, and more enjoyable.

We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Shipper / Receiver. This position reports to Manufacturing Supervisor and will work in Vancouver, B.C.

Vancouver:

Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.

As Shipper / Receiver on the Vancouver team, you will be involved in shipping and receiving variety of items in accordance with organizational requirements. Other duties include packing, unpacking, checking items against order documents and updating computerized inventory records. This individual operates manual or powered equipment in accordance with safety requirements.

General Responsibilities

  • Receives, unpacks and checks incoming materials to ensure goods are delivered as per specifications.
  • Pick and pack shipping orders.
  • Create a sustainable, safe, and orderly working environment in the warehouse area.
    • Maintain First In – First Out for inventory usage
    • Consolidation of materials to create space
  • Completes related paperwork such as signing delivery slips and shipping documents; collects and files pertinent documentation such as waybills and consolidated orders.
  • Maintains inventory records by inputting shipping/receiving data into the computerized Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) system to ensure product is delivered and received as per requirements, reviews information for accuracy.
  • Interfaces with Customer Service and Purchasing Representatives to fill/receive orders and verify customer for shipping purposes.
  • Liaises with Packers to ensure the right product is packed and identified appropriately and sent within established time frames.
  • Identifies and returns damaged or spoiled goods to suppliers.
  • Process small package and LTL shipments through UPS and FedEx terminal.
  • Operate forklift, pallet jack or other equipment to load, unload, and transport material.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Additional training must be completed when assigned to Product Cells and other Production Locations. Training may include:
  • Product Training, according to work assignments.
  • Process Training, for each cell station in a production area, according to the Training Matrix for the production area.
  • Training on TPS, Routine Maintenance, Problem Solving, Teamwork, and similar or related topics.

Skills and Requirements

  • Completion of Grade 12

  • Trained to operate forklift and cranes and must be able to demonstrate proficient machine. operation or the ability to be trained to operate a forklift or crane.
