Overview
We are seeking an experienced pilot to join our aerial wildfire suppression team operating across the western provinces of Canada. As a key member of our fire-response crew, you will conduct mountain flights, reconnaissance, water/retardant drops, support to ground crews, and other aerial wildfire suppression tasks. You will also assist in airspace coordination, surveillance flights, and, when required, long-range deployments between provinces.

Duties

  • Pilot helicopter aircraft for wildfire suppression, including mountain-area operations.
  • Navigate challenging terrain, weather, and altitude conditions typical of mountainous regions.
  • Coordinate with air attack officers, ground crews and other air assets during wildfire operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all aviation, safety, and wildfire-operation protocols.
  • Be ready for rapid deployment across different provinces (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba) as fires arise.

Requirements

  • Valid Canadian commercial pilot licence (CPL) or equivalent a must; .
  • Significant total flight time, including mountain-flight experience.
  • Previous experience in aerial wildfire suppression or mountain operations (helicopter) — wildfire “birddog,” water-bomber or equivalent missions are an asset.
  • Strong ability to operate in mountain/weather-challenging environments, including high altitude, variable weather, and remote terrain.
  • Excellent situational awareness, decision-making, and teamwork skills under stressful and dynamic conditions.
  • Compliance with all regulatory and safety requirement
