Marquis Snow and Ice Ltd. is seeking qualified Snow Plow Operators to join our growing Operations Team for snow and ice removal. Our Snow Plow Operators perform snow and ice services using wheel loaders with snow blades, tractors with snow blades, sidewalk plows with salters, and pickup trucks with plow and salter.

The snow and ice removal season runs from November through April, depending on the weather conditions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Snow Plow Operation: Operate snow plows, salt spreaders, and other snow removal equipment to clear snow and ice from roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other areas as assigned.

Route Planning: Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely and thorough snow removal services for our clients. Coordinate with supervisors to prioritize tasks based on client needs and weather conditions.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries during snow removal operations. Maintain awareness of hazards such as hidden obstacles, low-hanging branches, and pedestrian traffic.

Equipment Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of snow plows and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to supervisors for prompt resolution.

De-icing Operations: Apply de-icing agents such as salt or brine to surfaces to prevent ice accumulation and improve traction. Monitor weather conditions and adjust application rates as needed to effectively manage ice buildup.

Recordkeeping: Keep accurate records of work performed, including hours worked, routes covered, materials used, and any incidents or observations. Submit daily activity reports and time sheets as required.

Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, property managers, and members of the public, addressing inquiries and concerns related to snow removal activities. Represent the company in a positive and courteous manner at all times.

Adaptability: Remain flexible and responsive to changing weather conditions, work schedules, and client priorities. Be prepared to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed during snow events.

Teamwork: Collaborate with other crew members to support overall property maintenance operations, including road maintenance, landscaping, and general property upkeep, during non-snow seasons.
