Job Title: Driver / Yard Worker (Manual Transmission Required)
Location: Coquitlam, BC (supporting a client facility in Vancouver)
Job Type: Full‑Time | Permanent
Pay: $25.00 per hour to start, increasing to $27.00/hour once fully independent in the role.

We are currently hiring a Driver / Yard Worker for our client, operating a busy scrap metal facility serving the Lower Mainland in Vancouver. This role is a mix of driving and hands-on yard work and is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active and working in an industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive company trucks, pick up and box truck (automatic) flat deck and dump truck (manual transmission) to pick up and transport scrap metal
  • Load, secure, and unload materials safely and efficiently
  • Follow dispatch schedules and routing instructions
  • Complete required paperwork (pre‑trip inspections, packing slips, scale tickets)
  • Inspect loads for safety and compliance
  • Support yard operations when not on the road
  • Guide customers and assist with loading/unloading as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures

Equipment & Tools:

  • Forklifts
  • Basic power tools

Work Environment:

  • Industrial, outdoor yard setting
  • Physically active role involving lifting and moving materials
  • Company trucks are older models
  • Work is hands‑on and operational in nature
  • Some days may be more yard‑focused, others more driving‑focused

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Clean driving abstract
  • Manual transmission driving experience (required)
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Physically capable of performing labor‑based tasks
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety‑conscious

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
