Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic, team players in Ottawa, ON area. The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, professional, and timely delivery of large and heavy goods, including furniture, appliances, mattresses, fitness equipment, and other products. The role requires excellent customer service skills, safe driving practices, physical capability to handle heavy freight, and proficiency in company technology platforms used for fleet and shipment management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

###Transportation & Delivery

* Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with all federal, provincial, and company regulations.
* Complete scheduled residential and commercial deliveries on assigned routes.
* Load, secure, transport, and unload heavy freight while preventing damage to products and property.
* Deliver furniture, appliances, mattresses, and other oversized shipments safely and professionally.
* Obtain proof of delivery (POD), customer signatures, and required delivery documentation.
* Report delivery exceptions, damages, shortages, or delays immediately to dispatch.
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects promptly.

### Shipment Management (Dispatch Science)

* Use **Dispatch Science** to receive daily assignments and delivery routes.
* Update shipment status accurately throughout the day.
* Scan shipments and capture electronic proof of delivery.
* Record exceptions, delivery notes, customer comments, and photos when required.
* Maintain accurate delivery records within the Dispatch Science platform.

### Fleet Management (Samsara)

* Operate the **Samsara Driver App** throughout the workday.
* Complete vehicle inspections using Samsara.
* Maintain accurate Hours of Service (HOS) where applicable.
* Follow GPS navigation and route optimization provided through Samsara.
* Comply with company safety policies and driver performance standards monitored through Samsara.

### Customer Service

* Provide courteous, professional, and respectful service at every customer location.
* Communicate delivery updates and resolve minor delivery concerns professionally.
* Represent the company in a positive manner while on customer premises.
* Respect customers' homes and property during deliveries.

### Safety & Compliance

* Follow all workplace health and safety policies.
* Use proper lifting techniques and approved material handling equipment.
* Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Report accidents, injuries, vehicle incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and roadworthy vehicle.

Basic Requirements:

* Previous experience delivering furniture, appliances, or other oversized freight.
* Valid D-Class driver's licence with air brakes.
* Clean driver's abstract.
* Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 100 lbs (45 kg), with assistance or equipment when required.
* Excellent driving record.
* Strong customer service and communication skills.
* Comfortable using smartphones and mobile applications.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

### Preferred

* Experience using Dispatch Science or similar transportation management systems.
* Experience using Samsara fleet management systems.
* Experience operating pallet jacks, dollies, hand trucks, or lift gates.
* Knowledge of Ontario road regulations and safe driving practices.

## Physical Requirements

* Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry heavy items.
* Climb stairs while carrying freight.
* Enter and exit delivery vehicles multiple times throughout the day.
* Stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
* Work in varying weather conditions.

Job Types: Full-Time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
