The Fort Garry Hotel is seeking polished, service‑focused Servers to join Vida Cucina Italia, our ultra fine dining restaurant in the heart of Winnipeg. As a Vida Server, you will provide an elevated, personalized dining experience defined by exceptional attention to detail, refined service standards, and in‑depth knowledge of cuisine, wine, and service etiquette. This role is ideal for hospitality professionals who thrive in a luxury dining environment and take pride in anticipating guest needs, executing flawless service, and representing one of Winnipeg’s most iconic hotels with confidence and sophistication.

Evening shifts Tuesdays - Saturdays 5pm - 11pm.

Duties:

Room set up including tables, bar, table – side service carts, bussing stations etc.

Establish and build guest rapport from initial greeting to the end of the dining experience.

Answer all questions related to menu and bar list. Guide guests in their choices.

Provide seamless service throughout the dining experience.

Manage the dining experience of multiple tables often sat at the same time.

Impeccable table maintenance.

Work as a team to ensure guest satisfaction through entire restaurant.

Clear and re – set tables immediately upon guest’s departure.

Accurately handle all payment transactions.

Complete list of required duties to ensure the restaurant is ready for next day of service.

Communicate efficiently, effectively and accurately with kitchen to minimize ordering errors and/or timing issues.

Build a list of regular guests.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Seven + years of fine dining serving experience; Italian Restaurant fine dining serving experience is an asset.

Extensive/comprehensive wine knowledge, especially Italian wines.

Bartending experience required.

Table side service experience, which may include cocktail preparation, salads and desserts prepared to order.

Experience with a variety of POS systems.

Team waiting experience is an asset.

Command of culinary terms, especially those related to Italian fine dining.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English; an additional language is an asset – especially if Italian.

Exceptional interpersonal abilities.

Able to resolve guest complaints in a timely and efficient manner.

Commitment to Fort Garry Hotel professional standards and exceptional service.

Must have Smart Choices Certification (Responsible Beverage Service - Province of Manitoba).

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Pay: $16.39 per hour
