About Us

Lotus Kitchen & Bar is a modern Asian fusion restaurant located in downtown Halifax. Our kitchen focuses on East Asian flavours, including noodle dishes, stir-fry, small plates, and high-volume dinner service.

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is best suited for someone with previous line cook experience, good kitchen discipline, and the ability to work smoothly with a team during busy service.

Position: Line Cook

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant recipes and standards

- Work on the hot line and support daily kitchen service

- Assist with prep work, restocking, and station setup

- Maintain consistent food quality, portioning, and presentation

- Keep workstations clean, organized, and ready for service

- Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards

- Communicate clearly with cooks, prep staff, and front-of-house team members

- Support the wok station when needed and learn wok procedures if required

Requirements:

- Previous line cook experience required

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

- Strong teamwork and communication skills

- Reliable, responsible, and able to follow instructions

- Good sense of organization and timing during service

- Wok cooking, stir-fry, Asian cuisine, or high-heat cooking experience is preferred

- Candidates with wok experience, or candidates who are willing to learn wok cooking, will be prioritized

- Food Handler Certification is an asset
