Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In-Home Caregiver to provide personalized care and support to a client in their own home. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for senior care and assisted living. You will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our client by delivering attentive, respectful, and tailored care. This position offers a structured schedule and the opportunity to provide meaningful, one-on-one support.

Schedule

• Mondays & Fridays: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Personal Care & Household Support).
• Wednesdays & Saturdays: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Companionship & Community Outings).

Core Responsibilities

1. Personal Hygiene & Specialized Skin Care

• Shower Protocol: Assist with a detailed shower routine using a shower chair, including double shampooing/conditioning, combing hair while bathing, and washing the body twice.
• Skin Integrity: Apply lotion extensively following hygiene routines to prevent dry skin and eczema flare-ups.
• Oral Care: Encourage and assist with daily teeth brushing.
• Incontinence Care: Provide assistance with Attends/Depends as required.

2. Active Household Support

• Engagement Goal: Actively involve the client in tasks to exercise both body and mind, promoting independence rather than performing tasks in isolation.
• Daily Tasks: Assist with light meal preparation, kitchen tidying (including dishwasher and garbage), and laundry (washing, folding, and putting away).

3. Community & Social Engagement

• Transportation: Use your own reliable vehicle for community outings such as trips to the mall, movies, or shopping.
• Safety: Ensure the client wears weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear, and provide frequent rest breaks during outings.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Language Skills: Fluency in Arabic is required for client engagement, with general proficiency in English for documentation.
• Experience: Prior experience supporting clients with Schizophrenia, Depression, and mobility challenges (such as Severe Osteoarthritis) is highly preferred.
• Physical Ability: Must be able to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely to support a client who is "independent but weak".
• Logistics:
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle are required for community transport.
• Professionalism: Daily care notes must be submitted accurately via the Alayacare app.

• Medication: No caregiver assistance is required for medication; all doses are administered by the family.
• Environment: Must be comfortable working in a home environment with a focus on routine and structure.
