FARI LAW Professional Corporation, an Ontario-based firm, is seeking a highly motivated and self-sufficient associate lawyer to join our growing practice. This role is primarily focused on family law, with additional exposure to real estate and/or civil litigation, depending on the candidate’s experience and interest.

We are a modern, remote-first, performance-driven firm operating in a predominantly remote environment. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team culture.

  • Court appearances
  • Mediations and conferences

  • Drive matters forward independently

Responsibilities

Family Law (Primary Focus)

  • Conduct initial client consultations
  • Provide independent legal advice on domestic contracts
  • Manage files from intake through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, financial statements, mediation briefs, and agreements

  • Represent clients in mediations and ADR processes

Additional Practice Areas (Secondary – Based on Experience)

Real Estate (if applicable)

  • Manage residential real estate transactions
  • Review and prepare closing documents
  • Liaise with lenders, clients, and opposing counsel

Civil Litigation (if applicable)

  • Draft pleadings and motion materials
  • Manage litigation files from initiation to resolution
  • Attend motions, case conferences, and settlement discussions

Requirements

  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • 1–3 years post-call experience
  • Demonstrated experience in family law (required)
  • Experience in real estate and/or civil litigation (strong asset)
  • Proven ability to manage files independently from start to finish
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Strong client communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proficiency with:
  • Microsoft Office, Teams, Google Suite
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Virtual meeting platforms
  • Practice management software (e.g., Clio, LEAP or similar)

Compensation

  • Quarterly bonuses tied to billable performance
  • Annual bonus potential: $10,000 – $50,000+

Compensation Philosophy

This role is designed for a lawyer who wants to be rewarded for performance. High-performing associates have a clear path to earning well above base salary through a transparent and achievable bonus structure.

What We Offer

  • Remote-first, flexible work environment
  • Performance-driven compensation model
  • Opportunity to work across multiple practice areas
  • Direct exposure to a growing, entrepreneurial law firm
  • Clear expectations and autonomy in file management
