We are currently seeking an experienced Processing Quality Control Inspector to join our team. This role is primarily focused on drawing review, production quality verification, and random inspection of structural steel components throughout the processing department.

What You'll Do

  • Verify processed material against drawings, cut lists, and project specifications
  • Conduct random quality inspections throughout the processing floor to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Perform dimensional inspections on structural steel components, assemblies, and processed material
  • Identify drawing discrepancies, production issues, and quality concerns before they impact downstream operations
  • Work closely with Engineering, Processing, Production, and Supervisory teams to resolve quality issues
  • Document inspection findings and assist with corrective actions when required
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing rework and improving quality

What You Bring

  • 5-10+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication, processing, quality control, detailing, or a related industry
  • Strong ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings and fabrication details
  • Thorough understanding of structural steel processing equipment and manufacturing practices
  • Experience performing dimensional inspections and verifying production quality
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies before they become costly problems
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working independently on the production floor while collaborating with multiple departments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with structural steel processing operations such as drilling, sawing, coping, burning, and plate processing
  • Previous quality control or quality assurance experience in a steel manufacturing environment
  • CWB Welding Inspector certification considered an asset but not required
  • Mechanical Engineering Technologist, Welding Technologist, Drafting Technologist, or equivalent industry experience considered an asset

Why Join Sureway?

  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Stable, long-term employment with an established Alberta manufacturer
  • Opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving quality standards
  • Safety-focused, team-oriented culture
  • Career growth opportunities within a leading steel manufacturing organization
