About the School of Medicine
It’s time to transform medical education. Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Medicine will be designed from the ground up to shift the paradigm of healthcare delivery and improve the well-being of individuals, families and communities. With a community-driven, intentionally inclusive approach, the new school will train doctors whose cultural awareness and humility are as crucial as their medical skills.
Led by Dr. Teresa M. Chan, a forward-thinking educational leader, TMU’s School of Medicine will draw on the university’s commitment to community, equity, and innovation to address rapidly changing healthcare needs. The school will train a new generation of physicians who are ready to learn, to adapt, and ultimately to be agents of change.
The Opportunity
We are hiring a Program Analyst to join the School of Medicine. The Program Analyst supports the Director, Strategy & Project Management Office with a primary focus on supporting planning across the school, including the development, implementation and monitoring of School of Medicine operational and work planning processes. .
Working closely with leaders and teams throughout the School, the Program Analyst will develop planning frameworks, templates and tools that enable teams to clearly articulate their priorities, activities, deliverables and timelines. The Program Analyst will also support strategic projects across the School of Medicine through data collection, synthesis and analysis.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the implementation of operational and work planning processes, frameworks, templates and tools across the School of Medicine including developing templates, working with leaders and teams, facilitating planning discussions and supporting stakeholders through planning activities.
- Project management including planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Advancement of School of Medicine (SoM) programs and priorities with a consistent focus on mission, vision and values, including equity, diversity and inclusion, decolonization and Reconciliation.
- Development of clear and accessible analyses and communication materials for different stakeholder audiences.
- Decision support, including the development of decision notes and briefing notes.
Qualifications
To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications:
- Completion of a post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., health, policy, administration, or business management).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management, strategic planning, operational planning, organizational planning, program development, research and policy analysis or a related field. Experience in a healthcare or post-secondary environment is considered an asset.
- Demonstration knowledge of organizational planning principles, and experience developing planning frameworks, templates and tools.
- Proven ability to gather, synthesize and analyze complex information from a variety of sources to develop specific recommendations.
- Experience preparing stakeholder communications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to a range of audiences.
- Ability to proactively identify strategic solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and external partners, and to work with a high degree of independence.
- Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated adaptability and comfort with ambiguity and complexity.
- Strong computer proficiency, including the use of the Google Suite of products.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
