Full job description

We're Growing!

Lead One of Edmonton's Most Iconic Dining Destinations

At Bodega Tapas Bar, we're entering an exciting new phase of growth—and we're looking for exceptional leaders to grow with us.

Located in the heart of historic Whyte Avenue, Bodega is part of one of Edmonton's most vibrant neighbourhoods. Surrounded by independent boutiques, cafés, pubs, and live entertainment, Whyte Avenue is where locals and visitors come to experience the city's culture, energy, and food scene. Bodega is proud to be a part of this community, earning a loyal following for authentic Spanish tapas, one of Edmonton's premier wine programs, and hospitality that makes every guest feel like a regular.

We're looking for a Restaurant Manager who embraces the energy of Whyte Avenue and is passionate about creating memorable experiences in one of Edmonton's most dynamic restaurant districts.

More importantly, this isn't simply an opportunity to manage a restaurant—it's an opportunity to build a long-term career. As part of the Sabor Restaurant Group, with multiple award-winning concepts and ambitious growth plans, you'll have genuine opportunities for advancement, leadership development, and career progression.

We don't just serve tapas. We create experiences. If that resonates with you, keep reading.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're seeking a results-driven, hospitality-obsessed Restaurant Manager to lead our Whyte Avenue location.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who leads from the floor—not behind a desk. Someone who understands that exceptional hospitality comes from building great teams, maintaining uncompromising standards, and creating a culture where both guests and employees love to be.

If you thrive in a lively, neighbourhood atmosphere where every shift is different and every guest matters, we'd love to meet you.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Operations & Guest Experience

  • Lead a seamless, high-volume service operation with an unwavering commitment to quality and consistency.
  • Champion a guest-first culture where every visit feels warm, welcoming, and memorable.
  • Maintain exceptional standards across food quality, cleanliness, and health & safety compliance.
  • Resolve guest concerns with professionalism, empathy, and confidence.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop a high-performing front- and back-of-house team.
  • Build schedules that balance exceptional guest experiences with effective labour management.
  • Partner closely with our Head Chef to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and pride in execution.
  • Conduct meaningful coaching and performance conversations that help your team grow.

Financial Performance

  • Own key operational metrics including labour costs, food costs, inventory, waste reduction, and profitability.
  • Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with ownership and regional leadership on marketing initiatives, community partnerships, and revenue-driving opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, inventory controls, and payroll administration.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 3–5+ years of progressive restaurant management experience, ideally in a full-service, high-volume environment.
  • A confident leader who builds trust, develops people, and creates positive workplace cultures.
  • Financially savvy with experience managing labour, food costs, and restaurant profitability.
  • Calm under pressure, decisive when needed, and always looking for ways to improve.
  • Passionate about hospitality, wine, and exceptional food. Experience with Spanish cuisine or wine is considered an asset.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • $50,000–$65,000 annual salary, based on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus program.
  • The autonomy to truly lead your restaurant—not simply follow a checklist.
  • Ongoing leadership development and mentorship.
  • Career advancement opportunities within one of Edmonton's fastest-growing hospitality groups.
  • A passionate ownership team that values operators and invests in their success.
  • The opportunity to lead an established Whyte Avenue restaurant with a loyal neighbourhood following and a respected reputation.
