Full job description

Canadian Prairie Transport is a transportation services provider specialized in delivering dry and temp. controlled shipments. We provide full truckload and less than truckload services throughout Canada and the USA.

Job responsibilities:

  • Booking loads and reloads through prospecting and new business development .
  • Planning and managing available equipment and drivers.
  • Identifying issues and concerns of drivers, and resolving them in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate changes in market conditions and negotiate best purchase price while assessing all angles of the situation
  • Actively track and trace the movement of customer freight and proactively communicate with the customers.
  • Proactively communicate delays, breakdowns, road closures, etc. to customers, shippers, receivers. Effectively adjust operating plans to accommodate such circumstances.
  • Communicate and coordinate pickup and delivery schedules with shippers, receivers and drivers.

Desired Skills and Experience :

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of Transportation/Trucking Experience required.
  • Sound analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional negotiation, decision making and organizational skills
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-pace, deadline-oriented environment
  • The ideal candidate will be an independent self-starter with excellent problem solving skills, who also can work as a team when needed.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
