Healthcare Operations Centre Dispatcher

Alberta Healthcare Operations – Dispatcher

Paladin Security is currently seeking reliable and detail oriented Dispatchers to support our Alberta Healthcare Operations team. This position plays a key role in coordinating staffing and operational scheduling requirements across multiple healthcare sites while maintaining strong communication with frontline staff, leadership, and clients.

This is a fast paced environment that requires excellent communication, multitasking, and problem solving skills. Successful candidates must be able to adapt quickly to changing operational demands while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.

Position Details

  • Casual / On Call position
  • $18.00 per hour
  • Open availability required
  • Availability to work all 7 days of the week is required
  • Hours are not guaranteed

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and modify work schedules for Security Guards within the healthcare contract
  • Maintain scheduling software (winTEAM) and ensure all scheduling entries are accurate and up to date
  • Coordinate with Client Service Managers to ensure staffing requirements and site information are current and accurate
  • Respond to operational calls, staffing shortages, and last minute scheduling changes in a timely manner
  • Communicate with guards, supervisors, and management regarding shift availability, vacation requests, book offs, cancellations, and additional shift opportunities
  • Strategically plan schedules to maximize staffing efficiency while minimizing unnecessary overtime
  • Liaise with the Alberta Protective Services Operations Center to ensure all scheduling requirements are fulfilled
  • Monitor overtime on a pay period basis and report findings to senior management
  • Maintain professionalism and accuracy while working in a deadline driven environment

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; post secondary education is considered an asset
  • Previous customer service, dispatch, or scheduling experience is considered an asset
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate new software systems
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Friendly, professional, and dependable with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast paced operational environment
