Full job description

Position Overview

The Site Services Operations Lead is a hands-on field leadership role responsible for directly leading crews, coordinating daily logistics, and driving execution across the Site Services division. This role is out in the field every day -- working alongside drivers, operators, and service technicians to ensure work gets done safely, efficiently, and to standard.

The Operations Lead owns field execution. That means leading crews through deliveries, installations, servicing, and removals across temporary fencing, portable sanitation, handwash stations, waste bins, and related site services equipment. This role requires a strong leader who leads from the front, communicates clearly, and keeps operations moving in a fast-paced construction environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate daily dispatch schedules, service routes, and equipment allocation -- then go execute them alongside the crew.
  • Directly lead field crews through deliveries, installations, servicing, swaps, relocations, removals, and emergency calls for all site service equipment.
  • Be present on site during active work to lead, direct, and support crew members in real time.
  • Hold drivers, operators, and technicians accountable for safety, productivity, professionalism, and quality of work.
  • Onboard, train, and coach field staff on SOPs, safe equipment operation, servicing procedures, trailer operations, and company expectations -- in the field, not just in a boardroom.
  • Communicate daily with dispatch, management, subcontractors, and customers to coordinate work, flag issues, and keep operations flowing.
  • Respond and adapt quickly to scheduling conflicts, weather, equipment breakdowns, urgent calls, and shifting priorities -- and keep the crew moving through it.
  • Ensure field operations comply with Alberta OHS legislation, COR requirements, site safety rules, and company safe work procedures.
  • Track and maintain accurate records for dispatching, equipment movement, driver hours, servicing, and work completion.
  • Identify and flag opportunities to improve field workflows, crew performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with incident reporting, hazard identification, near misses, and equipment deficiencies as they come up in the field.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in field operations, dispatching, or operational leadership in construction, rentals, transportation, or site services.
  • Proven ability to directly lead and manage field crews in active, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of dispatching, routing, construction logistics, and equipment coordination.
  • Hands-on experience with temporary fencing, portable sanitation, waste bins, or construction rentals considered a strong asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills -- comfortable leading from the front.
  • Ability to manage multiple moving priorities and make quick decisions in the field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, scheduling and dispatch platforms, and GPS tracking tools.
  • Solid knowledge of Calgary roads, construction sites, and site service logistics.
  • Working knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation and COR standards.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License required. Class 3 considered a strong asset.

KPIs / Success Metrics

  • Schedule performance and dispatch efficiency across active routes and projects.
  • Crew accountability, performance, and retention.
  • Customer satisfaction and service response times.
  • Safety compliance and reduction of field incidents.
  • Accuracy and completeness of field documentation and servicing records.
  • Equipment utilization and operational productivity.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
