Dispatcher – Towing & Heavy Haul Operations

Location: Grande Prairie, Alberta (Office-based with limited remote work)

Position Overview

Deck It Towing and Hauling Ltd. is a high-volume towing and heavy haul trucking company serving Northern Alberta and surrounding regions. We are seeking an experienced Dispatcher to join our operations team. This position is operationally critical and requires reliability, decisiveness, and proven dispatch experience.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Annual Compensation: $95,000 – $120,000, dependent on experience, rotation, and schedule
  • Rotation: Flexible (days, nights, holidays, and on-call as required)
  • Expected Hours: 10 hours per day
  • Vacation Pay: 4%
  • Health Benefits: Not included

Work Arrangement

  • Primary work location is in-office
  • Expected 10 hours per day
  • Limited work-from-home flexibility may be available based on operational requirements and performance

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispatch and coordinate towing, recovery, and heavy haul units
  • Maintain clear, continuous communication with drivers
  • Monitor truck locations, job status, and schedule changes
  • Manage incoming service requests from customers and authorities
  • Ensure accurate job tracking, documentation, and internal reporting
  • Collaborate with management, dispatch, and office teams to optimize operations
  • Make sound decisions in time-sensitive and high-pressure situations

Required Qualifications

  • Previous dispatch experience is mandatory
  • Experience in towing and/or heavy haul operations required
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS tracking, and digital communication tools
  • Dependable, accountable, and professional
