MUST HAVE 2+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN TRUCKING

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Dispatch Assistant to support daily transportation operations, with a strong focus on cross-border shipments between Canada and the United States. The ideal candidate will assist dispatchers, manage customs documentation, and ensure smooth and compliant movement of freight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist dispatchers in coordinating loads, routes, and driver schedules
  • Prepare, review, and manage all cross-border shipping documents (e.g., commercial invoices, BOLs, ACE/ACI filings)
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. customs regulations
  • Communicate with drivers, brokers, and customers regarding shipment status and documentation requirements
  • Monitor shipments in transit and proactively address delays or issues
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, documentation, and communication logs
  • Support dispatch team with administrative tasks and load updates
  • Verify driver logs and ensure all required paperwork is complete and submitted on time

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation industry preferred
  • Knowledge of cross-border shipping procedures (Canada–U.S.) is required
  • Familiarity with customs documentation and clearance processes
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dispatch/logistics software
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with freight brokers and customs brokers
  • Understanding of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations

Pay: $50,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
