Full job description
CLASI is a non-profit charitable organization that supports individuals with disabilities and their families. Currently, CLASI is looking for disability support workers in our AISP (Adult Individual Support Program). Support will be provided in the Saskatoon area and all supports are community-based.
Job Description
Support individuals in the Saskatoon Community to provide person centered, high quality support that enriches the individuals lives. This program is designed to provide mentorship, support, and quality of life for individuals by offering activities and programming geared to the individual’s interests and abilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Plan activities & community experiences, promote learning and an environment of personal growth. Assist with building skills, and meeting individuals personal goals. Provide ongoing guidance to the person being supported. Prepare and submit documentation & report writing as required.
Education:
- Disability or Rehabilitation Support Worker Certificate and/or related training and experience would be considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a working/reliable vehicle
- Valid First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or willingness to obtain within three months
- Additional courses such as TLR, MANDT, PART, or Positive Behavior Support would be considered an asset.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work effectively with individuals experiencing disabilities, co-workers, and community partners
- Open minded creative, effective time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Final Candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search.
