1. Prepare and deliver lessons, lectures, and demonstrations for educational purposes to students and/or staff as may be required.
2. Select, design, update, and/or construct training aids/materials.
3. Supervise students in classrooms, labs, tours, work placements, etc., following institute, trade, and safety guidelines.
4. Evaluate and record student progress with the use of assessments, assignments, and observations in accordance with program and institute guidelines.
5. Be flexible and responsive to learner needs through the use of appropriate instructional methodologies.
6. Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment.
7. Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
8. Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
9. Respond to curriculum/course demands and make necessary adjustments according to learner needs such as adult learning principles.
10. Develop new curriculum as needed. Maintain and up-date online curriculum materials as part of instructor duties.
11. Be reflective of and responsive to accommodation of special learning needs including equity groups and diverse learners.
12. Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience.
13. Engage in professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
14. Work cooperatively in an interdependent team environment.
15. Follow policies and procedures adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
16. Attend program and school meetings.
