What's The Role

At Dexterra, our people are at the core of everything we do. As we continue to evolve and grow across Canada, we’re building stronger, more connected programs that support our teams in meaningful ways — including how we manage workplace injury and disability.

We’re looking for a Manager, WCB Disability management to lead our national disability management strategy, support operational teams, and elevate how we deliver consistent, effective, and compliant programs across the business.

What You'll Do

Lead Disability Claims Management & Program Delivery

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of work-related injury claims across all provinces
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to the Disability Management team
  • Partner with operational leaders to drive alignment and engagement with disability programs
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including compensation boards

Drive Strategy, Improvement & Governance

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve disability management programs and processes
  • Develop policies, procedures, and cost management strategies (including appeals and objections)
  • Identify opportunities to enhance program effectiveness and drive cost efficiencies
  • Lead the development of corporate and divisional disability management improvement plans
  • Manage and monitor the corporate disability management budget

Build Systems, Reporting & Insights

  • Lead the development of systems to track, trend, and report on incidents and claims
  • Maintain performance metrics and provide insights to leadership
  • Support board-level and executive reporting related to disability management

Lead People & Strengthen Partnerships

  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing Disability Management team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Payroll, and HSE stakeholders
  • Contribute as a key member of the HSE leadership team, helping shape best-in-class programs

Qualifications


Who We're Looking For

  • A Great Attitude!
  • 5+ years of experience in Disability Claims Management
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Health, Safety & Environment
  • Post-secondary education in Disability Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of provincial, territorial, and federal workers’ compensation legislation
  • Advanced communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience developing programs, processes, and reporting frameworks
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment

Nice to Have

  • Bilingual (English/French)
