Full job description

Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full-time positions. We are currently hiring for casual/on-call team members. While there is no guarantee of weekly hours, our casual staff members are called in on average between 4-28 hours per week.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Providing consistent and ongoing companionship and emotional support
  • Assisting with household tasks/routines to promote self-management
  • Preparing and administering daily medications
  • Assisting with meal preparation and/or cooking meals for the resident
  • Accompanying the resident to and from appointments and recreational activities within the community
  • Assisting with financial management and personal goals

Position Requirements:

  • One year certificate in a related human/social service field with an emphasis on community living services or equivalent training/experience
  • A minimum availability of 3 shifts in a 7 day rotation and ability to commit to availability on a long-term basis.
  • Experience with medication administration, considered an asset
  • Exhibits a healthy attitude towards normalization principles and is aware of their position as a positive role model
  • Ability to demonstrate written, oral and interpersonal communication skills in English
  • Have knowledge of and experience in Behaviour Management
  • Must have legal entitlement to work in Canada
  • Must provide a clean criminal reference check, as required when working with vulnerable adults
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle to get to and from work
  • Must hold a valid Driver's License

Job Type: Casual

Pay: From $27.50 per hour

Expected hours: 2.0 – 40.0 per week

  • Kelowna, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
