We believe dining is an important part of joyful living. Our dining room is a place where residents gather, connect, and feel at home.

This is a working leadership role, where the successful candidate will actively serve residents while supporting and guiding the server team.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
  • Lead by example in all aspects of dining room service including greeting residents, taking orders, and serving meals.
  • Provide on-shift guidance and coaching to servers and new staff.
  • Support the Head Chef with server performance reviews.
  • Assign and supervise completion of daily service tasks.
  • Troubleshoot service issues and escalate concerns when appropriate.

Team Coordination:
  • Assist with scheduling for the server team.
  • Help coordinate staff time-off requests and absences.
  • Support training and mentoring of new team members.
  • Maintain smooth communication between the kitchen and dining room teams.
  • Monitor service flow, table turnover, and cleanliness standards.

Resident Experience:
  • Build positive relationships with residents and respond to requests with professionalism and care.
  • Help create a warm and dignified dining atmosphere that reflects the Cherish community.
  • Support themed dinners, family events, and special occasions.

Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure all health and food safety protocols are followed.
  • Maintain clean and organized service areas.
  • Monitor adherence to dress code, safety practices, and professional standards.

Qualifications:
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance.
  • Bondable.
  • 1+ year supervisory experience.
  • 2+ years serving experience.
  • Experience working with seniors is considered an asset.

Education & Certifications:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • WHMIS certification.
  • Food Safe Level 1 (completed within the last two years).
  • Serving it Right.

Language:
English Fluency written and oral required.
