About the Company

Colecon Contracting Ltd. is a British Columbia-based contracting company providing civil construction, excavation and related contracting services. The company undertakes construction and infrastructure projects and works with property developers, contractors, municipalities and other commercial clients.

We are seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to develop and lead the company’s marketing strategy, strengthen our presence in the civil construction sector, identify new market opportunities and support the continued growth of our contracting business.

Job Duties

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Plan, organize, direct and evaluate the company’s overall marketing activities and develop marketing strategies aligned with its civil construction and contracting operations;
  • Develop and implement marketing plans to promote the company’s excavation, civil construction and related contracting services to developers, general contractors, municipalities and other prospective commercial clients;
  • Conduct and oversee market research to identify construction industry trends, infrastructure development opportunities, prospective projects, target markets and potential clients;
  • Analyze market conditions, competitor activities, customer needs and industry developments and provide recommendations to management regarding business positioning and market development strategies;
  • Develop strategies to strengthen the company’s market presence and expand its network of clients and business partners within Vancouver Island and other target markets in British Columbia;
  • Plan and manage corporate branding, advertising, promotional materials, digital marketing and online communications to effectively present the company’s capabilities, completed projects and construction services;
  • Direct the development and maintenance of the company’s website, social media presence and other digital marketing channels;
  • Develop marketing materials, corporate profiles, project portfolios, presentations and other promotional content for use with prospective clients, developers, contractors and project partners;
  • Work with management and operational personnel to identify upcoming construction projects, tender opportunities and potential markets where the company’s services may be promoted;
  • Support the company’s business development and bidding activities by researching prospective clients and projects and developing appropriate marketing and client outreach strategies;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients, industry organizations, developers, contractors and other business partners;
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve client retention, corporate reputation and awareness of the company’s services within the construction industry;
  • Establish marketing objectives, performance indicators and budgets, and monitor the effectiveness and return on investment of marketing initiatives;
  • Evaluate marketing campaigns and business development initiatives and prepare reports and recommendations for senior management;
  • Coordinate with external advertising, design, website, media or marketing service providers when required;
  • Advise senior management on market opportunities, competitive positioning, branding and long-term marketing strategies supporting the company’s growth.

Employment Requirements

  • A university degree or college diploma in business administration, marketing, commerce or a related field, preferably with a specialization in marketing or sales;
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, sales, business development or a related field;
  • Strong knowledge of market research, marketing strategy, business development and client relationship management;
  • Ability to analyze market information and identify commercial and project opportunities;
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience developing corporate marketing materials, digital marketing strategies and business presentations;
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate marketing activities with management and operational teams.
