Full job description

We are currently looking to fill a DSW position in Mount Brydges.

Must have flexible availability for 3-6 hour shifts, typically before and after school hours, weekends and full availability on PA days. The ideal candidate will have experience with pediatric behaviours and complex medical care needs. Must have a valid drivers license and be comfortable taking clients out into the community. Must have a valid DSW certificate with minimum 2 years field experience and current Safe Management Training.

Job Summary

We are currently hiring a dedicated Developmental Support Worker (DSW) for a position in Mount Brydges.

Flexible availability is required. Ideal availability includes weekdays from 06:30-08:30 and/or 15:30-20:30 with weekend and summer flexibility from 06:00-14:00, 1000-1800 and/or 15:00-20:30.

Our team of service healthcare professionals delivers care to numerous clients each day enabling people to remain in their homes, attending to their healthcare needs and overall well-being, caring the way we care for our loved ones.
1 - In an efficient, kind and safe manner, assist clients with the provision of activities of daily living as required, including bathing, feeding, washroom assistance etc.
2 - Monitor and supervise clients and the environment to ensure safety, report concerns to the Director or designate
3 - Assist with the safe arrival and departure of participants
3 - Perform laundry, cleaning, end of day routine and submit completed forms to Director
4 - Maintain accurate documentation and records
5 -Assist clients with mobility as required
6 - Respond calmly and professionally in emergency situations and assist as directed
7- Assist the Community Nurse with client health assessments
8 - Assist with or lead activity programs as required
9 - Report any actual or potential problems/situations to the Director or designate.
10 - Complete and submit incident reports.
11 - Perform other position related duties as required.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
DSW and Safe Management Training certificates required.
Additional certificates related to and in addition to those listed above are encouraged such as: U-First, safe food handlers certificate etc.
Valid Drivers License and access to a vehicle is required.
Valid First aid and CPR
Valid and recent vulnerable sector screening complete.
Valid and recent (within the past 12 months) TB Test.

Salary: $22.00 to $26.00 /hour
