About the Role

The DocuPet solution includes an easy to use online licensing system, branded website and communications, real-time tracking and reporting, fulfillment and customer service, and value-added services for pet owners including our Lost Pet Alert System and Rewards Program.

We are looking for a talented Senior DevOps Engineer who will be a driving member of our team, developing automation tools, enhancing our CI/CD pipelines and helping us scale our platform to meet our goals for 2024 and beyond.

What You Will Be Doing

• Working hand-in-hand with our software engineers to enhance our code deployment process, including improvements to our CI/CD pipelines, and implementing or enhancing automated code testing
• Improving our monitoring and observability across the platform
• Developing automation tooling to simplify and accelerate our infrastructure deployment, scaling and remediation using industry standard tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Packer
• Participating in our on-call rotation, while also making strides to reduce the number of incidents
• Architecting solutions to the challenging problems facing a technology company in the midst of rapid growth
• Providing mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues, and advocating DevOps mindset across the organization

What You Will Bring

• Extensive experience and expertise (3+ years) with Provisioning tools such as Terraform or Cloudformation
• Extensive experience with monitoring tooling such as Datadog, Grafana or Prometheus
• Deep knowledge of AWS (5+ years) and its various services, with emphasis on RDS, Lambda, EC2, S3, and VPC services
• Extensive experience (3+ years) with configuration management tools such as ansible, chef, or salt
• Deep understanding of Git workflows and automation
• Good understanding of agile SDLC methodologies
• Experience (3+ years) building, maintaining and optimizing CI/CD pipelines
• Experience (5+ years) configuring, managing and tuning web application servers (nginx, PHP) for performance and scalability
• Experience (5+ years) working with scripting in Bash, Python, Perl, or similar
• Experience (1+ year) with Redis or similar tools for caching and authentication storage
• Proven experience working at scale with high performance, high traffic web services

Also Nice To Haves

• Experience with and knowledge around containerization including Docker, Kubernetes, and specifically EKS/ECS
• Working knowledge of Javascript frameworks like node.js or Vue.js
• Working knowledge of PHP and frameworks such as Symfony

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $110,000.00-$145,000.00 per year
