Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with experience in cake decorating and food presentation. This role involves preparing a variety of baked goods, creating visually appealing desserts, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Pastry Chef will contribute to delivering exceptional customer experiences through innovative and beautifully crafted pastries.

Duties

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards
  • Decorate cakes and pastries with creative designs, including intricate cake decorating techniques
  • Assist in food preparation, ensuring all items meet quality and safety standards
  • Package baked goods for retail or catering purposes, maintaining presentation quality
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and pastry stations
  • Follow food handling procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to develop new dessert ideas and improve existing recipes
  • Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers about our pastry offerings when necessary.
  • Must be available mornings from 6am.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in baking, pastry arts, or a related culinary field, preferably within a restaurant or bakery environment.
  • Strong skills in cake decorating, food presentation, and food preparation techniques
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
  • Experience with kitchen equipment used in baking and pastry production
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude
  • Familiarity with the food industry standards for cleanliness, packaging, and safety regulations
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in cooking or restaurant settings is preferred

Pay: $18.25-$21.00 per hour
